 I am currently recruiting for  a Caretaker/ Concierge position with grounds maintenance experience to maintain the grounds and buildings of an educational facility. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience working in this environment with the potential of other positions down the line. 

This position is temporary sick cover and is for 2 weeks initially but may well be longer. 

Location: Harrow 

Salary: £8.00ph - £10.00ph


There needs to be cover between 7am - 11pm Monday to Saturday and 7am-6pm on Sundays.

There is a rota system in place which will see you doing either 7am-330pm or 330pm -11pm 

 You will work a 5 days on 2 days off shift pattern.

The successful Caretaker  will be involved in maintaining communal areas within the facilities blocks and on our estates,grounds maintenance work, carrying out small maintenance repairs as well as and having due regard to health & safety and security issues.

General grounds maintenance, tending flower beds, weeding, pruning and turning over compacted soil in plant beds throughout the estate, sweeping curbs and gutters, litter picking and making bulk safe.

Litter picking

Site walk around/ site checks

Cleaning duties including communal blocks

Cleaning of on-site office and communal toilet.

Reporting via response system and  Estate manager any problems/issues at the site.

The Caretaker will be responsible for site walk rounds before closing down for the night and making note of any maintenance issues for the handover for the morning staff 


Candidates must have;

  • Caretaker experience
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft office.
  • Knowledge of current health & safety practices

Candidate with valid DBS is essential you will not be considered for the role without this due to the nature of the site. 

Experience of working within a commercial or residential property maintenance environment would also be highly desirable. 

You may have experience of the following: Property maintenance, fabric maintenance, property maintenance operative, handyman, caretaker, facilities maintenance operative, facilities maintenance and building fabric maintenance.
