Static Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Are you a mechanically biased, multi-skilled engineer, looking to work for one of the most recognisable brands in the country? Are you looking for an exciting role in a multi-faceted company, where the opportunities for learning and growth are second to none? This globally renowned brand is looking for a Multi-skilled, electrically biased engineer, to work on a large static site in the City.

The role

You’ll be required to tend to a variety of mechanical plant, such as including FCUs, AHUs, VAVs, boilers and any plumbing or maintenance duties. The role is on a full continental shift working 7-7, 14 days out of 28. There is no callout, so you’ll enjoy fairly set hours, although from time to time, as the business required you might need to stay late to help, for which you will benefit from 1.5x your usual rate. On each shift you will be working alongside a electrical engineer, so any areas you’re not familiar with on the electrical side, will be covered by that engineer.

What you’ll need

  • Time served electrical apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline - to a minimum of Level 3 NVQ/C&G
  • Experience working in large corporate buildings, preferable another static site
  • L8 (Legionella Control) would be ideal, although not essential
  • A proactive and flexible attitude to work

What’s in it for you?

  • A basic salary of £35,000 - £38,000 per annum
  • Benefits such as 4% contributory pension, healthcare, childcare vouchers
  • A full continental shift pattern, meaning you’ll be off 14 days out of 28
  • The advantage of working for a large financially stable company, where you can take secondments to be trained up in other areas of the business.

What next?

This is an urgent position on site at the corporate head offices, for a large brand name, and as such, the position is of real importance. Interviews are being turned around quickly (this week if possible), so if you’re interested please forward a full CV detailing your experience and why you’ll be a good fit for the role to Laurab@thornbaker.co.uk, and if you’ve got what they’re looking for, I will give you a call to discuss further and book interview.
