This is an opportunity for Working Foreman/Site Manager to work for a leading national Fitout and Refurb Specialist contractor who pride themselves in delivering quality projects in Retail and Leisure sectors across the Midlands and South of the Country, typically between £50k and £5Million in value.  

The role - Working Foreman/Site Manager

You will be an experienced Working Foreman / Site Manager who can jump on the tools where needed as well as supporting continued business growth, delivering core brand values and a high quality finish within the constraints of project programming. You will be reporting to either a Project Manager or Contracts Manager and will be responsible for managing and controlling the day to day site activities to meet programmes in accordance with the company policies and procedures on construction, fitout and refurbishment projects. 

Key accountabilities:

  • Achieve production targets and carry out programming and monitoring to ensure that deadlines are met
  • Read and understand specifications, drawings, preliminaries, preambles and contract documentation
  • Produce H&S and O&M on completion of projects
  • Requisition and management of materials/delivery
  • Issue subcontractors with regular short term programmes to ensure planned progress is achieved
  • Hold progress meetings
  • Display on site an up to date copy of the construction programme indicating the progress to date
  • Give full consideration to the tender allowances when establishing the site compound
  • Liaise with the design team, clients, subcontractors and suppliers to and maintain good working relationships
  • Attend monthly cost meetings and agree contribution forecast
  • Ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety aspects
  • Obtain risk assessments and method statements from contractors prior to work commencement
  • Handle all customer care issues in a timely and professional manor

The Person

The successful candidate will ideally; 

  • Be trade qualified in either Carpentry or Dry lining.
  • Hold an SMSTS and 3 day first aid tickets at the very minimum.
  • Have experience as a No1 Site Manager for a refurbishment/fitout contractor.
  • Provable experience on Interior Fitout and Refurbishment projects in excess of £1M
  • Be happy to travel/stay away nationally.
