Fixed Wire Tester Supervisor

Are you a qualified Fixed Wire Tester, with experience of overseeing a team of engineers/overseeing contracts? Are you looking to work for a rising star in the FM industry, in a rewarding position? Then I want to hear from you!

I am looking for a Fixed Wire Tester Supervisor for a mobile role, covering the South of the UK - work will be largely based in and around London, but at times you will be required to travel slightly further. You\'ll be working purely in commercial premises, on a wide variety of contracts and as a result the position needs someone adaptable and driven in order to be able to keep up.

The role

This is a new position that has been created as part of a new department to service existing contracts for the companies Southern contracts. To begin with this will be a hands-on position, and you will be required to attend various sites in order to perform fixed wire testing and any remedial repairs or installation that needs doing as a result. This is a new position, so to begin with you\'ll have a small team, but this is likely to expand to around 4-5 engineers over the course of the next year, which will allow you to take more of an operational role and spend less time on the tools. You\'ll report into the Fixed Wire Test Manager, who will manage remotely so you\'ll have a great deal of autonomy, and be trusted to run the contract fairly independently, with support from the other teams in the area when required. You\'ll be working in various settings including commercial offices, retail units and care homes.

What you\'ll need

  • You\'ll need Test & Inspect Qualification 2391/2394/2395 and experience of testing and inspection of fixed appliances as well as a JIB gold card and either an ECS or CSCS card.
  • Experience in a similar role - contract management experience is essential - due to the set u0p of management you\'ll be capable of dealing with any issues that arise, and won\'t be micro-managed so you must be able to make sound decisions independently.
  • Your own hand tools - all other tools will be provided
  • A full clean UK driving license - this is a mobile role so cannot be considered without and the ability to pass a DBS check due to the nature of some of the contracts you\'ll be working on.
  • Good IT skills - you will be using various equipment for reporting and receiving jobs
  • A positive attitude and the desire to succeed. At times some level of flexibility will be required - this is a new division for the south of England so for some time they may be finding their feet in terms of working out what fits best for the team.
